        Arms trade

Since the beginning of the war-stage of the Yugoslav crisis the public was persistently presented dangerous and faulty theses claiming helplessness and defencelessness of two active participants of the civil war - Croatia and Bosnia-Herzegovina. The first thesis is that the two former Yugoslav republics were allegedly exposed to Serbian aggression, and the second that the arms import ban actually usurped their right to defense. The fact that this stereotype is but a means for achieving the objective of war and an excuse for the conquering of Serbian territories in Croatia and Bosnia is, in addition to the latest events in the field, also evidenced by the data published in the prestigious London journal "Defense and Foreign Affairs Strategic Policy" of 30 September 1995. This issue presents some data on sizable deliveries of heavy and light weaponry (tanks, helicopters and the like) to Croats and Muslims, the ban notwithstanding.
