SUBJECT: APPEAL FOR HELP FROM BIHAC HOSPITAL -LIST OF URGENT NEEDS
Dear Madam/Sir,
Please find below the summary of the appeal letter we received from Dr. Bekir Tatlic, Director of the Bihac Hospital. Hope you can provide at least some of the needs listed and help them urgently improve the situation in the Hospital. "For November a pre-decided quantity of food arrived. For December we were promised another delivery, but nothing has arrived. The amount of food designated for the Hospital by UNCHR is for 400-500 sick and wounded patients, however we have around 1,100 sick and wounded patients in the Hospital while the Hospital canteen is feeding a large number of refugees (around 1,900) with the amount of food planned for 400-500. We require about twice that amount of food.

Our most urgent foor requirements are:
We must also stress an urgency for a large quantity of baby food which we have not received for some time now. It is hard to say what we need because we do not know how much aid you can offer us. The absolute basic needs are: FLOUR, CANNED FOODS and BABY FOOD.

The Hospital has currently around 1,100 patients and we are having to use other unsuitable spaces to house these patients. Since we are not in a position to evacuate the most severely injured, their numbers are growing daily.

Via IRCR we received medecines for the last 2 months. However these medicines were only in a small quantity and were for cronic illnesses which at this moment is not needed. We also received an insufficient amount of surgical materials in relation to the Hospital needs.

Our urgent requirements are as follows:

Thank you in advance for all your help and humanitarian assistance,

Dr. Bekir Tatlic
Director, Bihac Hospital
